In October 2023, we 7th-graders headed off to Malta for a language adventure. Our teachers, Mr. Krutzler and Ms. Zaja, flew with us from Vienna. When we landed, the ESE gave us a warm welcome pack and took us to our host families. But after a quick break, we hit up the ESE school, got our IDs, and checked out the “Bay Street Shopping Complex.”
Our routine after that day was: school, trips, and free time for us to roam. We did the whole shebang, from shopping, eating, and exploring.
Bowling was a blast one night. In groups of 6, we competed against each other. Not to forget, we cracked some puzzles in groups on a Valletta quest with the Questo app. We also toured Mdina, Valletta, and Rabat, diving into their history and snacked on the famous pistachios Malta’s known for. Between all that, we hit up the limestone museum, glass factory, and silver factory. It was cool to learn Malta’s buildings are all made from the same stone. And we were allowed to buy souvenirs from the glass and silver factory.
Our trip was an unforgettable experience, helping us boost our English and bond with other 7th-graders.
